AMAZON STATIONARY RAIN PUDDLES |
Amazon stationary rain puddles get filled by rain in the rainy season. They also are remnant puddles left behind as flooded areas or river water levels decrease. They are one of the toughest habitats for any plant or animal to survive in. However, in the wild, there are some extreme animals and plants which thrive in them. Here are some pictures of their incredible beauty.
ABOVE and BELOW: Some of these puddles are less than 5 feet wide but they seem as a huge miniature land.
ABOVE and BELOW: Puddles which are not shaded by trees can have a water temperature of more than 40 C. Somehow the Eriocaulon sp. aquatic plants commonly called Pipeworts and the freshwater carnivorous aquatic plants such as Utricularia sp. have managed to resist and thrive in these high temperatures in the wild.
